"It would be seen by the world that Canada, a daughter of Old England, intends to stand by her in this great conflict. When the call comes our answer goes at once, and it goes in the classical language of the British answer to the call of duty: 'Ready, aye, ready.'"

  1. Ah, Sir Wilfred Laurier, the great francophone British imperialist. What were his exact words when he said that he may be French, but he felt like an Englishman. I've been trying to find the precise quote, but I can't seem to google it.
