The Rogue's March

Spin is the porn of politics. Dave, you and your useless Tories are headed for a presidential superstate with His Tonyness the Emperor soon calling the shots unless you unequivocally act now. If you are not the Heir to Blair, then bloody well prove it. No less than the sovereignty of Her Majesty's Kingdom is at stake.

And all for what? This? So Blair can pretend he's a superpower and smile alongside Obama as equals. Humility has never been one of Tony's core strengths, the man will stop at nothing, even attempting to make a Blairite out of the Pope, so aggressive is the charlatan's certainty. Only you have the power to stop him, Dave, and to give the people what they want. In the name of God, do the King's duty here, or we'll play The Rogue's March and drum you out of the regiment.

See, I love this blog when it talks about Field Marshal Viscount Double-Barrell-St John-Smyth VC GCB DSO (and Bar) and his battles in the late 19th century. I love it when it talks about minor decesased royals, gents' clubs, orders of knighthood and morning coats. It needs to quote Debrett's more too.

But when it talks about contemporary party politics then I get really borezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Sorry.

Please, from a keen reader, stick to your strength. You're very good at it, even if it sometimes is a bit OTT.

  2. The Tories stll need to tread carefully, until they have won the next election. It is distasteful, for us, but important not to give any fodder to Labour scare campaigns.

I do agree with 99RV though, I come to The Monarchist to escape the depraved modern world, it is always a bit of a jolt to have it intrude like this.

  3. Egad, Birkenhead, love the title and analogy, but you need to avoid modern day politics, as fundamentally important as the issue is. Seeing Tony's smiling face is just ruining it for people.

  4. What I don't understand is both Labour and the Conservatives seem to support the Act of Settlement, which of course bars Roman Catholics from the throne, not on any religious grounds, but simply as it was thought that having a head of state beholden to a foreign power wasn't in the best inetrests of the nation.

How is that different from the Lisbon treaty (EU Consitution)?
