The main Cenotaph in Britain is rather a plain looking thing compared to the Australian War Memorial and the Canadian War Memorial in Canberra and Ottawa, which are far more magnificent edifices to "Our Glorious Dead". As a focal point for the Empire's Fallen, the relative paucity of the stone slab in London is rather surprising to me.
