Her Majesty visited one of the newest regiments of the British Army today. The Royal Welsh were formed on Saint David's Day in March 2006 as a result of the previous government's amalgamation of older regiments, the oldest of them being the Royal Welch Fusiliers (you read that correctly, Welch not Welsh) which can trace their history back to the "Glorious Revolution".
