Needless to say, I was not sobre at the time, and I will never forget how much I winced at the sight of it. Looking at Tony Blair in this photo I don't know whether to laugh or cry. One wonders if he feels the slightest ill at ease swinging with the Queen in this ridiculous way, and is just pretending not to be embarrassed, or whether he is in fact shameless and is fully savouring the moment as king of the world.

Quite probably the most embarrassing moment in Her Majesty's very long rein
I recently came across this shot again, which I had mercifully not seen since the reported turn of the millenium. The look on Her Majesty's face says it all: while Tony Blair looks perfectly in his element, the Queen's person has been unbelievably and embarrassingly compromised in a hand holding (and hand swinging) cringe-fest sing-a-long that would make a drunk person blush.
