Although it should be noted that unlike the gold fleur-de-lis on the Armorial Bearings of the Queen-in-Right-of-Quebec, the white fleur-de-lis on the provincial flag of Quebec are not symbols of monarchy but, rather, of Marian devotion. Their only royal connotation would be as symbols of "Mary, Queen of the World" (Montreal's Cathedral-Basilica of this name being the seat of the Roman Catholic archdiocese).

Let us hope the Jacobins behave themselves during the Royal visit. The couple are popular enough that any attack upon them would likely backfire.
