No comment is necessary:
Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence from the United Kingdom, but a new island-wide poll suggests most residents of the tiny Caribbean nation believe they would be better off had the country remained a British colony.
The survey, conducted for the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper by Johnson Survey Research, found that 60 per cent of Jamaicans think the country would be better off today if it was still under British rule. A mere 17 per cent said they believed the country would be worse off. The remaining 23 per cent of respondents said they didn’t know.
You can hear the Guardianistas...
Interestingly, the Jamaican Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, has argued for the cutting of all ties to the Crown. The public are not enthused about that idea either.
The people of Jamaica need some self confidence. They will get it in about 20 years when the Indian tricolour is raised over Buckningham Palace.
ReplyDeleteWon't be Indian, it will be a black Muslim war flag. Thats when the Great European War of independance will begin, and it will be more bloody than ww1 and ww2 combined.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, India and the US will protect Britain from Muslim invasion. Going by the account British eunuchs have given of themselves in Libya, you are going to need a lot of help from others protecting yourseves from Islam. Gloating about the monarchy might not be the best way to gain American and Indian sympathy.
ReplyDeleteWhat does the courage Mr. Anonymous suggest? That we start gloating about mass democracy?
ReplyDeleteNope, I suggest you accept reality like the British Prime Minister has and throw flowers at the feet of your former slaves in India. It's not new for you. You have been grovelling at America's feet for 60 years already. It's a post racial world. So, former white slaves in America, or former brown slaves in India, whats the difference? Chin up.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, sir, who you are referring to as you.
ReplyDeleteThis site certainly has no problem regretting the result of the American War of Independence, as you may have seen. If you consider that grovelling, please feel free to do so.
As for the American colonists being slaves, that's laughable. They had a high degree of freedom, arguably higher than that of those back in the British Isles.
It seems to me, sir, that you consider colonialism slavery by definition. Am I right?
We may not be able to keep the troll under London Bridge from speaking, but we don't have to feed him.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. McCrea:
ReplyDeleteI'm from the land of the trolls. We are brought up with how to deal with them. :-)
We don't starve them. We slay them. One way is to have them eat till they burst -- if you know that particular story.
You people are proper dumbasses if you think England will ever fall to Islamic extremists. Reality check guys, most muslims who live here came here because it isnt a violent bigoted shithole of an Islamic state.
