The Prince of Wales in Canada

HRH Prince Charles was in town the other day, and I happen to bump into him with iPhone at the ready. The Premier of Ontario is behind him, but that is not why the crowds are happily intrigued and joyful.

The gentleman below in the red tie, is Mr. Protocol and the Queen's Canadian Secretary, not to mention Usher of the Black Rod for the Senate of Canada.

I noticed the Equerry to the Prince of Wales wearing what appears to be the Star of Valour, no doubt for conspicuous bravery in Afghanistan and one of the reasons (I am sure) why he was chosen for the position.

  1. The RCD captain is wearing what looks to me like a Sacrifice Medal and a General Campaign Star (Southwest Asia) with a clasp denoting 210 days of cumulative service (180 days above the initial 30-day qualification period). So he either did two rotos, or one really long one, and he was seriously injured there.
