All British and European records might be smashed with this Queen, though it will be difficult to surpass the Sun King.
ReplyDeleteLet us not forget, sir, that the Sun King came to the throne when he was only five years old. The present Britannic monarch will be ten years older than the Sun King was at his passing at her next birthday.

The longest reigning European monarch of recorded history without a minority regency is Johannes II of Liechtenstein, I believe. His reign was about two years shorter than that of the Sun King.
