June 365 years ago – on the 14th in the old calendar, 24th in the new – the Battle of Naseby was fought.
The Parliamentarian New Model Army defeated the Royalist Army.
It was a decisive victory in Oliver Cromwell's rise to power, the Cromwell tyranny, and the Commonwealth of England.

My ancestors fought for the Royalists, so this is something I simply can not celebrate.
Given the way this post ends with a sentence containing "the Cromwell tyranny," I find it hard to see that this is a celebration, sir.
